Does the system ever take another Full backup? If not then doesn't it seem like that initial full backup is a point of failure if you have some kind of corruption issue?ģ. Is this incremental? Differential? Something else? It appears I can recover from any of the backup points but it seems like it must need the original backup as well as the later backups to do a full restore. What happens after the initial backup? Now SQL backups are taking like 5 minutes so clearly it isn't a full backup but I can't seem to figure out what kind of backup it is.
When the database is first backed up to Acronis does the agent take a backup, compress it, and then upload it? I have to assume something like that happened because the whole process took less than an hour and uploading without prior compression would take much longer over my Internet pipe.Ģ. I don't know if you can answer some of the questions but I didn't find them in that documentation.ġ. I am still a little unclear on what exactly is happening on a technical level.
Yes, I plan on testing those backups as soon as I have some down time.
