It is why you are seeing Threadripper pro's right now. Threadrippers were half baked at launch and were not fully supported. Personally, I've found that using Threadrippers in Windows is fucking atrocious. To the point I've regressed to using my 10 year old machine because it is reliable - then just render on the stronger machine. This is entirely my opinion as having owned a 2990wx and fighting with for years since release. IF it is a common complaint BOXX should support or get you an alternate machine. Have your IT dept try to connect with them.Ĭould be there are some weaker than average - but expensive - components in there, or just a bug. You have an exceptional machine, it's worth to spend 3 hours trying what I said just in case. I recommend using any spare SSD drive just to try a clean install of windows+max if possible.Īlso, something that is extremely retarded, that affect 3dsmax's performance a lot and I have had issues with this, is the real-time protection feature of windows (for example, using phoenixFD I get half performance when it's enabled).
If you cant install for some reason because of current production state, set a VM and install a new version there. If you get the same problem after checking RAM, reinstall. First, check your RAM modules, one by one, and see if the problem persists. You have a problem, it might be a hardware related issue, or a software one.
